About Company
Based in Charleston, SC and founded by industry insiders and newcomers, Afrime Studios will be the first majority black-owned video game development studio in South Carolina. Our goal is to provide a place for creatives to tell their story their way. Representation matters and is a powerful anchor for a whole new Unyverse of storytelling.
It’s first title, Unyverse is an RPG set against the backdrop of a rich afrofuturistic universe, about a former soldier who wants a peaceful start on a new planet but gets caught in the middle of a devastating conflict between warring corporations, governments and criminals.
At the heart of the story, It deals with themes of climate crisis, colonialism and the devastating effects of war. Showing that there many perspectives, shades of gray and how economies are built on the backs of the oppressed.
Unyverse is a first of its kind game, where the gameplay, visuals, music and cast of characters are all inspired by afro-descendant cultures from all over the world.
