The gaming industry is an ever-evolving landscape, teeming with creative minds and technological innovations. For job seekers in this dynamic field, effectively communicating their skills and experiences is crucial and to support and empower these individuals, we are hosting a unique event tailored specifically for job seekers in the gaming industry— the “Pitch Quest” event for gaming industry job seekers.
This event is a collaborative effort, featuring esteemed judges and experts in the field, designed to provide invaluable feedback and exposure to participants.
Introducing the Judges
We are thrilled to have Alex Gombos, Justin Williams, and Marie Ablaza as the distinguished judges for this event. Their wealth of experience and keen insights into the gaming industry make them ideal evaluators for our participants.
The Objective of the Event
The primary goal of this event is to provide job seekers with an opportunity to practice and refine their 60-second pitches about themselves. In the gaming industry, where first impressions and concise communication can make a significant impact, mastering the art of a pitch is essential. Participants will also receive feedback on their professional profiles, specifically tailored to the platform and offerings of Gamers Home, our freelancer marketplace.
We anticipate having four participants in this event, ensuring a focused and personalized experience for each.
The event will proceed as follows:
- 60-Second Pitch: Each participant will present a 60-second pitch, introducing themselves and highlighting their skills, experiences, and career aspirations. This pitch serves as a critical opportunity for participants to make a strong impression and convey their unique value propositions.
- Profile Review: Following the pitch, there will be a 60-second review of each participant’s professional profile on Gamers Home. This review will assess how effectively their profile showcases their abilities and aligns with industry standards.
- Judges’ Feedback: After the pitch and profile review, our judges—Alex, Justin, Marie, Brian, and Alejandro—will each have 60 seconds to provide constructive feedback. This feedback will focus on the clarity, content, and presentation of the pitches and profiles, offering participants actionable insights for improvement.
The “Pitch Quest” event is free to enter, emphasizing our commitment to accessibility and support for all job seekers in the gaming industry. At the conclusion of the event, each judge will rank the four participants based on their assessment of the pitches and professional profiles.
The participant with the highest score will receive special recognition, including being featured on Gamers Home’s social media channels and in our next newsletter. This exposure can provide a significant boost to their visibility and career prospects within the industry.
The “Pitch Quest” event is not just about competition; it’s about community, growth, and opportunity. In an industry as fast-paced and competitive as gaming, having a well-crafted pitch and a polished professional profile can make all the difference. By participating in this event, job seekers gain practical experience, receive expert feedback, and connect with influential figures in the industry.
We have scheduled this digital event for 5 PM PST on Monday, August 19th.
We are incredibly excited about the upcoming “Pitch Quest” event and the potential it holds for both participants and the wider gaming industry community. It’s an opportunity to celebrate talent, provide valuable insights, and foster connections that could shape the future of gaming.
We look forward to seeing the creativity and passion of our participants and sharing their journeys with our audience.
